Into 2010

New Year, new challenges. Great to have Paul Wood back on board with his tremendous percussion. Lighter touch with Cajon, brushes, cymbals….oh and a 30″ Chinese gong! New album on the cards (about time). New tracks, happy feel ‘Point One’ & a soulful ‘Silhouette’ ready to roll. Time to fill up the diary. See www.acousticgraffiti.com or www.myspace.com/acousticgraffiti for news of gigs and track samples.

Rounding off 09

Hectic summer led to a summer hiatus on the gig front. Two new numbers, Point One and Silhouette, penned and arranged. Gig-ready for early 2010, ready to go again. Great news to see the year out is the return of Paul Wood on percussion. Paul always gives an added pep to the Graffiti noise. Much lighter touch intended than previously with a  Spanish cajon (beat box), splash cymbals and his percussive box of tricks.

Debut gig at The Pulse Bar in Todmorden, Lancs on Saturday 28th November should see us live again as a trio.

Cheers for now.

July - been & gone

Busy, busy, productive July punctuated with most enjoyable gigs at Wigan Jazz festival and the ever-reliable Cinnamon Club in Bowdon. Always a pleasure to play there in the excellent atmosphere of the Jazz Lounge. Always a good attentive crowd in there, a real gem of a place.

Onward with the final 2 new numbers then get the difficult and several years overdue 2nd album cut.

Graffiti’s new Web Blog

Thought it was about time we got the blog thing going having relied on MySpace messaging and the like for the last couple of years.

Acoustic Graffiti are out and about touring the NorthWest as a self-contained duo again. Bereft of regular percussionist Paul Wood, new material has been penned and aired. Paul may occasionally be along again if we can track him down.

Nice cosy gig at Alexanders Jazz Theatre, Chester in May. Thanks to those that turned out, stayed out that close to the bank holiday (and bought the CD to take home to Oz) . Hopefully back at Alexanders towards the end of the year.

Looking forward to cameo gig at Taurus Bar, Manchester on June 20th & Wigan Jazz festival double gig on 13th July. Time for a new album too….watch this space, or MySpace or the Graffiti website.

Cheers for now
